I am finally caught up on my email! However, I have become aware that it is acting a tad glitchy. As such:
If you have sent me an email within the last month (or two, or three) that I have not responded to, I did not receive it. Please feel free to poke me with a stick.
In other news, there was that meme going around about how we don't know each other, and we should ask each other questions. I didn't participate, as one of my favourite past-times is disappearing for long periods of time for no externally penetrable reason.
For the record, it's always pretty much open season for questions for me. Life, vidding, writing, favourite tea, school, work, the last thing I took pictures of. After all -- when people interact with me, it makes me feel like I have friends!

Date: 2009-06-16 01:29 am (UTC)And, oh, October of 2007: when I was newly pregnant and did not really understand why I was sleeping all the damn time and eating in most of my conscious minutes and getting nothing done. I don't even remember seeing those emails, but I would like to discuss them now! I am an unreliable correspondent with a year-old child, but nothing like as bad as I was when I was pregnant.

I recall having a conversation in your LJ one time about how you actually had received and replied to my emails regarding that time that I was behind due to the death in the family and my life kind of blowing up; and that it was therefore acceptable to you that I was not on deadline. I would also love to discuss them! Especially as I also promised you fic in recompense for my tardiness.
Sorry for the tardiness of this reply. I had my very first academic conference this week, so things were a little hectic.

Date: 2009-06-21 03:51 pm (UTC)I'm okay. Convocated at the end of May, starting grad school in September. Going to Chicago in August. Had my first academic conference this week, hence the tardiness of my reply. Working at the same facility this summer. Have a mentoring appointment with that author on Monday. Lost my ability to construct complete sentences.
What about you? What have you been up to? We should attempt to grab coffee or lunch at some point, just so I can confirm that you haven't been replaced by an exceptionally clever, insubstantial AI.

How was the conference? Fun? Are you sticking around for grad school?
Coffee sounds good, though no rush if you're busy. Let me know what works for you. I promise not to try to recruit you into American Idol?

Date: 2009-06-28 05:32 pm (UTC)Thank you! And seriously, do not feel at all bad. I don't even think I mentioned on my LJ that I convocated (twice!), and you are surprise!parenting.
Conference was informative, and a good experience. I am remaining in-town for grad school -- the synchrotron is right here, and I intend to do some work utilizing it. While it would have been nice to go elsewhere, this just seems to work out.
Yes, coffee! Definitely. I would not have suggested it if I intended to tell you I was actually too busy. We have a maintenance shut down next week, so I don't work on the weekend. Both my Saturday and Sunday (4/5) are open.
